Grassroots Democrats
Live Interactive Fundraising
The Problem
Grassroots Democrats, formed previous to the 2004 Presidential election, is devoted to raising money and rebuilding the infrastructure of Democratic state parties across the country. With Republicans in control of Congress and the White House, it was clear that grassroots revitalization on the state level was a key component to rebuilding the Democratic party. In the face of less successful fund-raising efforts, compared with powerhouse fundraising of groups like ACT and MoveOn.org, Grassroots Democrats began the new cycle committed to finding innovative and more effective ways to help state parties.
The Stones' Phones Solution
In order to break through and stand out among fundraisers, Stones' Phones suggested Grassroots Democrats use a live fundraising program. In this program, trained and experienced callers used a detailed script to ask better voting Democrats for contributions live over the phone. The operators were armed with a flexible and extensive script educating them on how to answer frequently asked questions, how to answer questions on different issues, and a detailed explanation of Grassroots Democrats' history and mission.
The Result
With the personal touch of the skilled, live callers Stones' Phones used for the Grassroots Democrats calls, in just the first half of 2005, over $335,000 from nearly 10,400 contributors has been raised to help fund Democratic State Parties. With this money, Grassroots Democrats is well on its way to rescuing state parties from the funding crisis they have experienced since McCain-Feingold and turning swing states into blue states.
