Iftekar joined Stones’ Phones at the end of July 2017. He studied journalism and global poverty at the University of Maryland to marry his passions of storytelling and helping people who are marginalized for their ideas or identities.

Raised in Maryland and working in the DC area for three years, Iftekar’s experiences range from local news reporting to communications and canvassing for international non-profit organizations.

When he isn’t fighting oppression, Iftekar likes to paint his nails, write bad poems, and sing R&B anthems off-key.
